About Metformin (AARTMIN-850) 850mg Tablet
Metformin (AARTMIN-850) 850mg Tablet is an oral antidiabetic medication belonging to the biguanide class, used primarily for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps control blood sugar levels by reducing hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues. As a first-line therapy for type 2 diabetes, Metformin is highly effective and widely prescribed, especially in overweight or obese patients, as it does not typically cause weight gain and has a low risk of hypoglycemia when used alone.
Metformin (AARTMIN-850) 850mg Tablet are formulated for consistent blood glucose control and are typically taken once or twice daily with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects. Metformin is also used in combination with other antidiabetic agents, including sulfonylureas, DPP-4 inhibitors, or insulin, for improved glycemic control when monotherapy is not sufficient.
Beyond diabetes, Metformin is also used off-label in conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) to improve insulin resistance and ovulatory function.
