About Sitagliptin + Metformin HCI (PHILSITZ-M) 50mg/500mg Tablet 30’s
Sitagliptin + Metformin HCI (PHILSITZ-M) 50mg/500mg Tablet 30’s is a combination therapy designed to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin works by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, thereby increasing incretin levels, which help regulate insulin and glucagon. Metformin complements this action by reducing glucose production in the liver and improving insulin sensitivity in muscle tissue. Together, these mechanisms support better blood sugar management and reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications. This fixed-dose combination is typically prescribed when monotherapy is insufficient or when patients are already stabilized on separate doses of sitagliptin and metformin.
