About Levocetirizine (LEVOCEC) 5mg Tablets
Levocetirizine (LEVOCEC) 5mg Tablets is a third-generation non-sedating antihistamine used for the relief of allergy symptoms caused by hay fever (allergic rhinitis), urticaria (hives), and other allergic conditions. Each tablet contains 5 mg of Levocetirizine dihydrochloride, the active enantiomer of cetirizine, which provides potent and targeted antihistamine effects with minimal drowsiness.
LEVOCEC works by selectively blocking H1 histamine receptors, preventing the action of histamine, a substance in the body responsible for allergic symptoms like sneezing, itching, runny nose, and watery eyes. It is fast-acting and offers 24-hour symptom relief with once-daily dosing, making it convenient for both short-term and long-term use.
It is suitable for adults and children above 6 years old and is especially beneficial for patients who need relief from seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Unlike first-generation antihistamines, LEVOCEC has a lower risk of sedation and does not typically interfere with cognitive or motor performance.
