Indication:

Isosorbide Dinitrate (SORBANCE-5) 5mg Tablet is primarily indicated for:

• Heart failure: As part of a treatment plan to alleviate symptoms of heart failure by reducing the heart’s workload and improving blood circulation.
• Prevention of angina attacks: Used for long-term prevention rather than acute treatment of chest pain.

It may also be used off-label for other cardiovascular-related conditions under medical supervision.

Dosage:

The typical dosage of Isosorbide Dinitrate (SORBANCE-5) 5mg Tablet depends on the condition being treated, the patient’s response to therapy, and their overall health.

• For Angina Pectoris:
  • The usual starting dose is 5 mg taken two to three times per day.
  • The dose may be adjusted depending on the patient’s response and tolerance, typically in increments of 5 mg.
  • The maximum dose is often 20 mg, depending on individual needs, but 5 mg to 10 mg two to three times a day is most common.
• For Heart Failure:

Side Effects:

Contraindications:

• Severe anemia: Nitrates can lower blood pressure and exacerbate symptoms of anemia.
• Hypotension (low blood pressure): If a patient has low blood pressure, they should avoid using Isosorbide Dinitrate due to the risk of further lowering blood pressure.
• Severe head trauma or cerebral hemorrhage: Since Isosorbide Dinitrate dilates blood vessels, it should be avoided in patients with a history of severe head injury or brain hemorrhage.
• Glaucoma: Particularly narrow-angle glaucoma should avoid nitrates, as it can increase intraocular pressure.

Precautions to Isosorbide Dinitrate (SORBANCE-5) 5mg Tablet:
